Helpful answers

Answers to all common questions that you might have and a bit more.

What do I need to give you so you can migrate and manage my website?

During the onboarding process, we request an administrative user account for your WordPress website as well as a login for your current web hosting and your domain registrar account. With that information, we can migrate your site (WordPress files and MySQL database) to our servers and setup routine site management like plugin and theme updates, malware & security scanning, as well as our daily offsite backups. We keep all client passwords stored in an encrypted vault for ultimate safekeeping.

Will I have access to the WordPress cloud server storage either FTP or SFTP?

No, we don’t provide any access to our cloud server environment. FTP (File Transfer Protocol), SFTP (Secure File Transfer Protocol), or SSH (Secure Shell) credentials are not available to the users. This measure is for two main reasons: 1) For security reasons and your peace of mind. 2) The Permalink approach is: Your focus is on your business goals. Work on your company, not in it. Our goal is to help you reach that level, taking care of all about technical things of your WordPress sites. You delegate the tech work to us while you grow your business!

Do you give any discounts if I want you to manage more than 5 sites using a Pro Plan?

Yes! We give bulk discounts. Contact us for details. We also work with agencies. Once we know more information about your specific needs, we’ll be happy to put together a proposal with some attractive incentives.

What form of payments do you accept?

We accept major credit cards, debit cards, and Paypal payments. After signup, cards are auto-charged each month regularly until you decide to cancel or upgrade your plan.

How do I cancel my account?

You can cancel your account anytime by providing 30 days prior written notice by email.

Can I change my plan after signup?

Of course. You can upgrade or downgrade at any time by written notice by sending a support request by email.

Can you help me with a specific WordPress task/job?

Here you will find a shortlist of WordPress tasks we can help you. If you can’t find your specific request on this list or are still unsure of whether we can help, contact us and we’ll be happy to help you.

What happens if a plugin or theme update breaks my site?

In that situation, our engineers get alerted immediately by our safe update monitoring system that runs automatically after WordPress core updates and plugin updates. We would address the issue on your behalf.

What is Version Control?

Version control is a method we use to take extra special care of any changes that are being made to your website’s codebase. We make small, incremental changes that are tracked, documented, and can easily be rolled back if any bugs or issues are encountered after we make changes to your website. You can learn more about version control here.

Do you support WordPress Multisite?

Our Managed WordPress Hosting and Support services crafted to operators of websites running on single-site installations of WordPress. Permalink service does not support multi-site WordPress installations.

Which versions of WordPress are supported?

We support the current version of WordPress as well as one version previous to the current release.

What happens if a plugin I use is abandoned?

If you are using an abandoned plugin, we’ll help you find a comparable (and better supported) alternative.
